The Center for Economic Development leverages the expertise of the University of Alaska to support economic development around the state. Our work spans entrepreneurship programming, technical assistance to communities, applied research, and training for economic developers.
The Lead Analyst will fill a mission-critical role in turning research and data into actionable insights.
Main responsibilities include:
Conducting applied economic or market research
Writing feasibility studies, business plans, or other documents
Analyzing and interpreting data and communicating results to non-academic audiences
Advising clients in the government, business, nonprofit, and tribal realms
Candidates must posses the following Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Collect, analyze and interpret data.
Create comprehensive reports.
Understand and solve complex problems.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Strong writing skills are a must!
Evidence of interest in community development, economic development, business administration, entrepreneurship, public policy, or economics.
Two years of work experience in a related area.
Typical Education or Training:
Bachelor's degree in business, political science, economics or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Will give strong consideration to candidates (regardless of field of study) with a combination of education and experience that demonstrates a clear interest in economic development.
