When: Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. through December 4
The CED team, along with other passionate community organizers, is taking 1MC Anchorage under its wing! We’re kicking off the fall season with some innovative entrepreneurs who are excited to share their ideas, hear your feedback, and connect with the community. Our first 1MC presenter of the fall is Jeff Landfield, founder and editor-in-chief of The Alaska Landmine, a non-partisan news outlet covering local politics. He has an exciting new venture to share with you!
In case you’re new to 1MC, it is a nationwide program developed by the Kauffman Foundation based on the notion that entrepreneurs develop and launch their ideas over one million cups of coffee. Local innovators pitch their startup projects and receive supportive feedback and answer questions from an audience of community members and fellow founders. And the best part is it’s free and open to the public to attend.
We have some great presenters coming up in October:
Jeff Landfield, The Alaska Landmine, a non-partisan news outlet reporting on Alaskan politics.
Chidi Iwuoha, Agent Film School, a training program for real estate agents on using video to sell more homes.
Samuel Johns, Forget-Me-Not, a mission-driven group helping people experiencing homelessness reconnect with their families.
Kitty Farnham, Catalyst Consulting, a social enterprise connecting people, organizations, and networks across Alaska
Meg Zaletel, Anchorage Community House, a not for profit, self-sustaining gathering space and community resource
We hope you can join us on Wednesday mornings at The Writer’s Block to connect with Alaska’s up-and-coming innovators. If you or someone you know is interested in presenting at 1MC, please fill out this brief application, and we will be in touch!
