Data often influences legislators’ decision-making, but finding the information they need, when they need it, can be challenging. Information broken down by district can be especially hard to find.
UACED created the 2024 Economic and Demographic Factsheets as a way to provide quick, handy reference information that’s relevant to legislators when making decisions impacting their districts. We’ve included indicators like population, educational attainment, income levels, use of public benefits, and more. We hope this is useful to lawmakers, their staff, journalists, and members of the public. -
The Alaska Statewide CEDS was the product of a six-month process reflecting extensive analysis of the state economy, the input of hundreds of Alaskans, and the involvement of dozens of business, government, education, and nonprofit leaders. Although led by state government, it was designed to be used broadly by anyone working to strengthen the Alaska economy.
The UA Center for Economic Development developed the CEDS under the direction of the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development and the Alaska Development Team in the Governor’s Office.
You can find the most recent statewide CEDS document here.

This program helps innovators validate, refine, and strengthen their ideas through structured workshops, customer discovery, and expert guidance. We have partnered with communities across Alaska to develop Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS) that guide long-term regional growth and resilience. These plans are developed in close collaboration with local stakeholders and serve as roadmaps for economic diversification, infrastructure investment, and community-driven development across some of Alaska's most remote and resilient regions.
